The music industry …
The music industry is banking on lifestyle now, not music. There’s no money in selling music anymore. There’s money in lifestyle and branding. One sad word: Emo

For musicians it’s a catch 22. The internet is a great way to get music heard but when there’s 16 million other bands/artists trying to get heard it’s like: What’s the point?

It’s sad that small …
It’s sad that small businesses go out of business in general, but the reality is that even big retailers like Best Buy don’t sell CDs anymore. It’s all online now. For indie artists there are still outlets to get their music heard and sold, eg CD Baby. But it’s all going digital now. If I have time I’ll check out the movie at the SF Documentary Festival, kicking off on October 16, next.
